Indian Dairy Association, South Zone (IDA-SZ) invites you with immense pleasure to become a part of its flagship event – Dairy Industry Conference (DIC), which will be held at Adlux International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Angamali, Kochi from 08.02.2018 to 10.02.2018. The theme of the 46th Dairy industry Conference is DAIRYING:SUFFICIENCY TO EFFICIENCY.
Indian Dairy Association, an organisation of national repute coordinates its activities and services nationwide through its four zones: North, South, East and West. IDA (South zone) with its office at NDRI, SRS, Bangalore has its operational area in the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Indian Dairy Association has been organising Dairy Industry Conference every year for the past forty five years in various parts of the country to provide a live platform for dairy professionals, policy makers’ farmers and students .IDA South zone has to its credit the vast experience of organising conferences in a meticulous way. This time the event is hosted by IDA South zone and anchored by Kerala Chapter, which is operational at College of Dairy Science and Technology, Mannuthy.
DIC aspires for converging researchers, scientists, academicians, farmers and globally acclaimed industries to share their knowledge and disseminate the information to the needful. The 46th Dairy Industry conference will surely provide an exciting opportunity to all the attendees to interact, learn, share and link with fellow men. The participants will get a chance to present their research findings, views and anything that could contribute to the sustainability of dairy sector. This conference aims to highlight the technological developments in various dairy and allied fields: milk production, processing, packaging, preparation of milk products, pollution control and energy conservation.
In this occasion, we will be bringing out a compendium comprising of key note address/lead papers/posters contributed by experts in relevant areas. The distinctive attraction of the conference - the ‘Farmers’ Seminar’ will be organized in the afternoon of the inaugural day. In this session, the dairy farmers from various states will get a chance to interact with the dignitaries in the field. The best women dairy entrepreneurs from the four zones will also be felicitated during the inaugural function. The unique attraction of this conference is a ‘Students’ conclave’ where the undergraduate and post graduate students will get an opportunity to showcase their research talents.
It is pertinent to mention here that only once have Dairy Industry conference been held at Kerala previously ,which was in 1988 (23 rd DIC) .It is after a thirty years gap that Kerala – God’s own country is getting a chance to host this prestigious event. Established in 1948, Indian Dairy Association (IDA) is the apex body of the dairy industry in India. The members are from the cooperatives, MNCs, corporate bodies, private institutions, educational institutions, government and public sector units. IDA functions very closely with the dairy producers, professionals & planners, scientists & educationists, institutions and organisations associated with the development of dairying in India. IDA has been providing a common forum to knit the dairy fraternity together and thus, over the years, it has emerged as the reigning czarina of information. The IDA organises seminars, symposia and exhibitions on a wide range of topics catering to various segments of professionals, scientists, institutions and organisations associated with the development of dairying in India. The IDA's Head Quarter is in Delhi and the zonal branches are in Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi.
IDA (South Zone) has its office at ICAR-NDRI, SRS Bangalore. The South Zone having its operational area in the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, is currently helmed by the dynamic leadership of Shri. C. P. Charles, and supported by Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and 15 Executive Committee Members. IDA (South Zone) has been very active and had organized the Dairy Industry Conference in 2014, besides several seminars and workshops all over the zone, for the beneﬁt of the dairy industry.
The Kerala chapter of Indian Dairy Association (IDA) was established in 2004 and functions at College of Dairy Science and Technology, Mannuthy. Since its inception, the chapter is actively organizing various activities to promote and support the dairy fraternity of the state. The chapter has to its credit the vast experience of meticulous conduct of various national and state level seminars and workshops and trainings. The 222 members of this chapter include students, farmers, industry persons, government employees, and academicians. The chapter is truly committed to make the 46th Dairy industry Conference an unforgettable one.
